How the All On 4 Treatment Works

Before we begin the treatment, we will make a full oral assessment, covering both aesthetic and medical aspects, 3D imaging (CT scan), model planning and detailed design before any implant surgery is started. We will also take the time to answer questions and address any concerns you may have.

Then we begin the treatment by placing 4 -6 implants, depending on how many teeth are being replaced, and then a permanent bridge is attached. The procedure is done while you are under local anaesthesia so you won’t feel a thing.

After your mouth has fully healed, generally in 4-6 months time, we will ask you to return to practice so that we can fit your permanent long-term bridge.

Is the all on 4 treatment painful?

Because the All On 4 treatment is a fairly major, though safe, procedure, we will put you under sedation so you won’t feel a thing while the implants and bridge are put in place. After this initial bridge is put in place, it’s not uncommon to feel some temporary and minor aching/soreness. You can usually relieve this pain with paracetamol or ibuprofen, but we are also able to prescribe stronger pain relief should you need it.

Should I choose the all on 4 treatment? Is it right for me?

If you have significant tooth loss or you’re facing a future with no teeth at all, the All On 4 treatment can drastically change and improve your quality of life. The All on 4 dental implants procedure is successful in more than 95% of all patients and is an effective and reliable solution to patients who don’t want, or aren’t able to have, normal bridges or dentures put in place.

How long will my all on 4 implants last?

Dental implants need the same day to day care as natural teeth. As long as you practice good oral hygiene, which includes regular brushing, flossing and visits to your North Hill Dental hygienist and dentist, there’s no reason your new implants won’t last a lifetime.
